The Wedding! :)

The Wedding! :)

Let me just say that planning a wedding is so much fun. Now that the initial stress of finding the church and reception site is gone (and has been for a few months), planning our wedding has been the most fun I’ve had in a long time. For those who are curious, the wedding is April 28, 2007 at West Houston church of Christ (in Houston, duh) and the reception will follow at Hearthstone Country Club (also in Houston). I have a feeling more of you are more concerned with whether or not I have found a dress, the color scheme, flowers, bridesmaids’ dresses, etc… Let me put your fears to rest. I found a dress in the first store I walked into. Its a family-owned salon in Waco, TX and it is by far the most beautiful dress I’ve ever seen. It was the very first dress I picked up when I walked in the store and the minute I put it on, I knew it was the one. If you want to know what it looks like, though, you’ll have to ask me privately…its a secret from Matt! As for a color scheme, we chose something very simple, yet elegant. We are doing black and champagne for that classic look. Along those lines, the bridesmaids will wear strapless, tea-length dresses in black, with a satin champagne ribbon at the waist, and two thin satin ribbons, also in champagne, near the top of the dress, rounding out the dress at the bottom is a bit of champagne tulle. They are beautiful and they were an absolute STEAL! I had had the dress I wanted them to wear in my mind, but I had finally realized I would probably never actually find this dress. Needless to say, I was ecstatic when I saw it hanging on the rack. I’m still in a toss up about the flowers, but I’m leaning towards tulips. Oh and we also registered for gifts a couple of weeks ago…that was TONS of fun. There’s nothing like laying on the floor in Bed, Bath, & Beyond trying out pillows. Haha…yes, I actually did that! We’re also registered at Target, in case you’re interested. More news to come soon, check back!
