This past Friday, the 15th of December, Jenna graduated from ACU with a degree in Social Studies. We were all very excited for her. I know she is happy to finally be done with college and moving on to the new and exciting world of teaching. In other, extremely exciting news, Jenna was hired by Bryan High School as one of the 10th grade World History teachers for the spring of 2007.
Her job offer from Bryan High was quite the whirlwind experience. We were out Wednesday night when Jenna received a call from one of the teachers, they were interested in Jenna coming in for a job interview. One of the teachers in the history department had accepted different job, so there was now an opening for the spring. Jen was told to simply call the school Thursday morning for an interview time later that day.
Thursday morning, she was told if she could be at the school in 15 minutes, she would have an interview. 15 minutes later, at the interview, Jenna was offered a job on the spot! The first job to ever be offered on the spot by Bryan’s principal. All in all it made for a crazy and exciting weekend.
A few pictures from graduation are below. The rest are here, under Jenna’s Graduation.
One of our friends, Jeff Wischkaemper, took a few engagement pictures for us out at Research Park. Sometime during the spring semester, we’ll be going out for another afternoon of shots, so there will be more to come.
A few of the pictures from November are below.
You can check out the rest of the gallery here, under engagement, care of Jeff W. round 1.
Ok, so apparently we aren’t very good at this whole updating the blog thing. Really though, the planning is kind of at a stand still. The church and reception site are booked, my dress and the bridesmaids dresses have been bought, table centerpieces have been decided on, the save the date cards have been sent out, and the invitations will be ordered in just a few short days. The guest list is done, round one of our engagement pictures have been taken, I’ve decided on gifts for all the ladies, the registries have been made, the guys tuxedos will be picked out as soon as finals are over, the menu will be finalized in the coming weeks, and most importantly, the honeymoon has been booked. I had my first dress fitting over the weekend and it went really well. Not a whole lot has to be done to the dress, just take it up a little here and there, and of course, hem like a mile off the bottom…but whats new, right? I still need to find jewelry and a hair salon in Houston, but I’d say we’re doing pretty good. I still haven’t made a decision on flowers and we’re working on the cakes. Whatever, I’m not worried. We need a dress for our precious flower girl, but I know what we’re looking for, so now we just have to find it. Thats all for now…hopefully you won’t have to wait as long for the next update!
