The Countdown Is On!

The Countdown Is On!

Well, we are exactly one month away from the wedding date! We’ve had a very exciting couple of weeks. The invitations were sent out over spring break and our rehearsal dinner invitations were shipped to us just a few days ago. We’ve ordered the flowers and I took my bridal portraits over the break too. We also had our first shower last weekend and received so many beautiful things! There was a great turn-out at the Beaumont shower and we are so lucky to have so many friends and such great families. When we left the shower, the car was so packed we couldn’t see out the back window and once we got it all back to college station, you couldn’t walk in my apartment. We (& by we, I mean me…Matt sat on the couch!) spent almost 2 full evenings just packing things away in a closet. My friends from ACU are giving me a shower this weekend in Abilene and its the exciting shower (lingerie!). We will also have one more shower just a few days before the wedding. We are so so excited about everything happening in the next month and we can’t wait to share our special day with all of our family and closest friends.

Today we started making some actual plans for our trip at the end of the summer. Originally, we wanted to go to New York, Boston, and DC to see baseball games, but we’ve decided to just focus on New York. We’ll be in New York for about six days to really see the city and catch a game at Yankee Stadium. We picked up tickets for the Yankees Orioles game on August 14th. It really is amazing how quickly Yankee’s tickets sell. In our six days in New York, only one game had anything besides the bleachers left. We’ll be in the nose bleed section, but something is certainly better than nothing. Not too bad of a view…

Hopefully we will be booking the rest of our arrangements and plans in the near future. Getting to New York is unbelievably cheap, but staying there looks to be an entirely different story. Not only are hotels expensive, but there are so many to choose from it is almost overwhelming. We have a great list of stuff to see while we’re there and the two of us are already really excited.

The wedding is coming along, it’s almost to the point of being stressful. We are down to all of the details now; the rehearsal dinner invites, programs, ceremony order, vows, songs, invitation addresses, flowers, picture poses, and all sorts of last minute details. It’ll be a crazy but fun next few weeks.
