Whew…We Made It!

Whew…We Made It!

Wow…Matt and I have had a really rough start to the new year.  We both got sick after Christmas this year with some sort of flu like respiratory thing which caused both of us to have a lovely cough that lingered for weeks and almost total voice loss…and of course none of this hit me until I started back to school.  Just last week when we were both finally feeling 100%, we somehow caught a NASTY stomach virus which has been spreading like wildfire through our group of friends.  We both missed days of work and have just recently started eating normal meals again.  You know its bad when none of my pants fit anymore…  Anyways…its about time both of us are feeling better again…I was beginning think we had some bad karma or something ;).  School and work seem to be going well for both of us, we are just crazy busy.  Matt is working on his last full semester in grad school and plans to finish up this summer and I am busy trying to get my kids ready for the dreaded TAKS test at the end of April/beginning of May.  Its a long road, but hopefully with some hard work (on their part) and patience (on my part) we will make it and will be as successful as we have been in the past with our TAKS scores.

We are headed to Beaumont this weekend to spend some time with the family and celebrate some belated birthdays.  Maybe we’ll get some new pictures out of the weekend ;).  We are looking forward to our weekly dinner with the gang this weekend and then of course our SUPER BOWL PARTY…complete with the 2nd annual FRIED TURKEY!  I’m definitely glad I’m feeling better for all of the food coming up in the next couple of days!

Have a good rest of the week, everybody!

New Year Report

New Year Report

Christmas and New Year’s was great, but we only have one picture to show for it…its from Zach and Molly’s wedding last weekend in Dallas.  Overall we had a really great Christmas break, naturally full of LOTS of driving.  We spent Christmas Eve in Houston with Matt’s mom and then headed to Winnie early Christmas morning to start the Christmas marathon with my family.  A few days after Christmas we drove to Seabrook and spent the afternoon with Matt’s dad and did our little Christmas with him.  We finally returned to College Station for a night, just long enough to unpack the car and our bags and repack for our New Year’s Extravaganza at Sam’s house in Hamilton.  We spent two days at Sam’s house with all of our friends and returned to College Station for a couple of days before making our trek to Dallas for Zach and Molly’s Wedding.  It was definitely a VERY busy holiday, but we really enjoyed our first Christmas.  Now we are back to life in the real world, as work is back in full swing for both of us and Matt will start classes again tomorrow.  It will be a busy semester with school and work and we will probably start house hunting in a few months so we can make our return to Houston at the end of the summer.  The picture below is from the wedding last weekend…slowly, but surely our friends are joining us in married life.
