San Francisco Bound!

San Francisco Bound!

We are bound for San Francisco over spring break! I like to think of this as honeymoon#2 ;). We booked our plane tickets and hotel earlier this week and we are headed out on the Thursday of our spring break and will be in California until Wednesday. Matt is presenting at a Water Resources Conference in San Mateo the last three days of our trip, so we will spend the first 3 or 4 days taking tours and sightseeing. We are really, really excited! California is a state that neither of us have been to so it will be new and exciting for both of us. We are planning to take a tour of Alcatraz, see the Golden Gate Bridge, spend some time in Chinatown, go to Fisherman’s Wharf, possibly the Muir Forest to see the giant redwood trees, and we’ve got a few restaurants in mind that we would like to eat at. I found some shopping that looks GREAT, so I will probably do my shopping while Matt is at the conference towards the end of the week. We are also thinking about going to see some spring training games over the weekend we are there.

Our hotel is supposed to awesome too. We are staying at the Marriott San Mateo the whole time we are there. The rooms are supposed to be great and from the pictures it looks totally cool. Who knows…maybe I’ll give the spa at the hotel a try one day…I mean I’ll need to entertain myself while Matt is speaking…haha!

Well, thats all for now…the weekend is almost here! Enjoy the weekend…enjoy the nasty weather we’re expecting… :(

VERY exciting news!

VERY exciting news!

Well, its official…Matt and I have officially started house hunting! We are focusing our search in the Katy area of Houston and are really interested in some new construction that we have found in the Cinco Ranch and Seven Meadows areas. We are looking at both new construction in these areas and “used” houses. We are so very, very excited! We are looking for 3-4 bedrooms, hopefully a study/office, formal dining room and a relatively large, updated kitchen. One story, two story, we don’t really care and we would love to have a big yard, but unfortunately that seems to be too much to ask for in Houston. We are so excited to finally see the end to our renting days. We are beyond ready to have space, usable closets, a garage, a yard…more even more than all of that…we are ready to have something that is OURS. I am working on getting all of my stuff together to begin applying for jobs in school districts around Katy. Its all very exciting until I think about having to pack everything up again (in my house & classroom)…I absolutely HATE moving. Oh well…hopefully this will be the last time for quite a few years. Thats all from here, have a good week and happy Valentine’s Day!
