So I know I said it before, but now I think I’m content with the new layout on our blog. I guess I must be a difficult girl to please because I must have tried a thousand different layouts.
Alrighty…so now for our weekend. Friday night was a good night. Because town was crazy with people in for graduation, Matt and I decided to have dinner at a local pizzeria since we figured it wouldn’t be swamped with celebrating families. The pizza was great and afterwards we headed home to relax. It was a pretty nice evening at home. Saturday we did absolutely nothing for most of the day and it was absolutely wonderful. I didn’t even make it out of my pjs and into the shower until almost 4:00 Saturday afternoon….thats a big deal for me…I never do that! Quite honestly, the only reason I even got out of my pjs is because we had a wedding to go to. Jeff and Katie got married Saturday evening at the church here in College Station and it was so great. It was so different and non-traditional but it was so personal and intimate. It was so totally Jeff & Katie and I’m so glad they got what they wanted. Sunday morning we got up and drove to Houston to celebrate Mother’s Day with Matt’s family. It was great to spend the day with his mom and grandmother and celebrate how much they mean to Matt and now how special they are to me. After lunch and visiting, Matt and I headed back home to get our groceries for the week and get dinner ready. We had a great dinner with Zach and Molly Sunday evening and then it was time to get ready for the new week.
This is kind of a sad week for us. Its a week we knew was quickly approaching, but now that its here, its kinda sad. This week most of our friends are leaving College Station to move on with life. Zach & Molly are headed back to Dallas this weekend, but luckily we will get to see them in August when we go for Cortney & Brandon’s wedding. Sam isn’t gone yet…still a few more weeks with him. Kyle is headed back to Colorado for the summer and then…who knows… Luckily for us, Jeff & Katie will be here so we won’t be completely lonely this summer. With everybody except Jeff & Katie leaving College Station, it makes it somewhat easier to leave for Houston this summer, but its still bittersweet.
So far, this has been an ok week…Matt got his car back from the body shop after he got hit a few weeks ago…we said goodbye to the fantastic Ford Fusion this morning. It was not difficult at all to say goodbye to that piece of garbage on wheels. I got brave this afternoon and had my hair cut and highlighted here in town. I’ve been driving to Houston to get my hair done, but I just decided it was crazy to spend all of that money, so I found somebody here to do it. I’ll admit…I was kinda nervous about it, but it turned out really good. She was so much faster than the lady in Houston and considerably cheaper…all good things in my book! I didn’t get much cut off the length, just enough to fix the layers and shape it all up…the main thing was getting the highlights fixed. I was WAY overdue for a touch-up. I was most worried about the highlights but they turned out great. Even Matt commented on how good they look! I’m heading to Abilene this weekend to hang out with my mom and get the invitations done for Cortney’s bridal shower. It should be a great weekend…I’m so excited. Hopefully I will get to see my dad and brother before they leave for the weekend. Alright…this is already way too long and I’m up way past my bedtime! Goodnight everyone, have a good rest of the week!
