Sunday afternoon we were invited to the Rockets’ game at the Toyota Center with Jeff, Alison, & Ben and MaryAnn, Drew, & Luke. We had tickets to sit in a suite…which was TOTALLY awesome! That was the first time I had been to the Toyota Center and only the 2nd Rockets’ game I’ve ever been to. Suites are definitely the way to go! The game was good, but not overly exciting…pretty much a blowout. Oh well…good times and good company. After the game we went to Chuy’s to eat dinner. The 10 minute wait we were given initially very quickly turned into about a 45 minute wait…but the food was definitely good! The little boys, Ben and Luke, were so good all afternoon and evening…we had such a blast!
Matt, Ben, & me at the end of the game…Ben was SUPER excited!

Lately, I feel like we’ve been so busy I just can’t keep up. It seems like we spent the month of January recovering from Christmas and our vacation to the ranch. Really, the only memorable thing about the month of January was getting to meet Kate from the TLC TV series Jon & Kate plus 8. I’m a huge fan of the show…I love the kids…I just think they are adorable and I love the relationship that Jon & Kate have. I respect them for what they have done for their extraordinary family. I’ll admit she’s a little harsh toward him at times, but in what marriage are we all just the sweetest thing to our spouses. Anyways…we had to drive all the way to the Barnes & Noble in Pearland in order for me to meet her, but it was totally worth it. The line wasn’t bad at all…but I was there right when she started the book signing. I bought the book of course and I read it in 2 days…it was really good. Their story and faith in God is extremely touching. Like I said, meeting Kate was the only real highlight of the month…that same weekend I caught the flu and missed 2 days of school…which was HORRIBLE. Thankfully, Matt never caught it from me.
February has been fairly uneventful thus far as well. Jeff and Katie came to stay with us last weekend and we had Valentine’s date with them the night before V-day. We drove to Sugarland and had a great dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Saturday morning for Valentine’s Day I got up and made waffles for everybody and Jeff & Katie headed back home shortly after lunch. For dinner on V-day, we went to Jeff & Alison’s house and grilled with them and hung out watching the NBA All Star skill challenge and playing trains with little boy Ben. It was a great night. I’ve never been a HUGE Valentine girl…I usually just happy making it an ordinary day. I think its more important to show those around you how much you love them on a regular basis…not just once a year. My sweet husband got me a gift certificate for a pedicure at a spa near our house…which I will certainly enjoy!
The only other highlight of the month has been starting obedience school with our doggie. We needed some help learning training techniques and we’ve already learned quite a bit and its only been 2 weeks. The first week was…HORRIBLE. We definitely had the DUMBEST dog in the whole class. She barked and jumped and tried to go after the other dogs in the room. We were both in such bad moods when we left…I was so embarassed. I definitely didn’t look forward to returning this week. Thankfully this week was much better. She’s a really smart dog and she learns quickly, she’s just very easily distracted and is having a hard time being in a room with 6 other dogs. She’s doing great when work on the skills at home though…which is what we want.
That’s what we’ve been up to for the last several weeks. Coming up, I am looking forward to finishing obedience school and then being out of school for Spring Break! I am thinking about painting our bedroom at some point during the week…we’ll see.
