There’s not a whole of new stuff to let you nosey readers in on, but for those of you who are addicted to our blog, I’ll go ahead and let you in on the most recent happenings for the two mangos. Matt is into his internship in full force and is really liking it for the most part. I am getting a crash course in caring for an eleven month old little boy. My cousin and his wife have one child, Ben, who is almost eleven months old and they asked me to keep him this summer since his nursery school doesn’t have a summer program. I, of course was honored to get to spend time with him, but let me tell you…this is the best (& cheapest!) form of birth control in the world. He has just started walking, so of course he is into absolutely everything and you have to watch him like a hawk. I’ve kept alot of children in the past 10 or 12 years, but I must admit he is probably the sweetest and most well behaved kid in the world…granted I’m probably biased since I am related to him, but whatever. At 22 years older than him, I might as well be his aunt, so I have the right to brag. He is the most well behaved child in a stroller or a shopping cart and he has slowly been introduced to my Target addiction…we go at least a few times a week. On the few occasions Matt has been around Ben, it brings such a huge smile to my face, because I know what a wonderful father he is going to be one day, but this has definitely solidified our decision to wait a few years before we have children of our own…for now…we like spending time with each other.
We are still planning our honeymoon #2 to New York City for August. We should be booking flights and our hotel in the next couple of weeks. We are getting very excited and have bought a few books to help us plan our week in the city. If you have any pointers, definitely let us know! I’ve been before, but this will be Matt’s first time, so I want it to be as good as possible. Things have finally really settled down for us. We have actually spent the last couple of weekends in Houston and it has been so wonderful. I never knew sleeping late and eating a late breakfast could be so wonderful. The highlight of my week this week is going to be Friday night…we are going to the Astros game! This won’t just be any Astros game though…I’ve always wanted to sit in the Crawford Boxes and so for my birthday (back in April) Matt surprised me with tickets to the game with seats in the Crawford Boxes. For those of you who don’t know anything about Minute Maid Park (the Astros stadium), the Crawford boxes is a section of about 12 or 15 rows out in left field and this is one of the best places to sit if you want to catch a home run ball. So not only do we have great seats for this Friday’s game, but Craig Biggio is only 3 hits away from 3,000 and there is a HUGE chance he will get his 3,000 career hit Friday night. They are expecting it to happen either Thursday, Friday, or Saturday and Matt and I are thinking about getting tickets for Thursday and Saturday as well…all they have left is standing room only, but its better than nothing.
I will definitely post pictures this weekend! Have a great rest of the week!
